Westminster Abbey, the Houses of Parliament and the Tate Britain art gallery are a similar distance away. For a change of scene why not take a river cruise along the Thames, upstream to Greenwich or downstream to Hampton Court. There are plenty of shopping and dining options in the neighbourhood, with numerous restaurants, cafés, shops large and small and some outdoor markets.
