To the north of Kensington and Chelsea lies Notting Hill, one of the most popular and cosmopolitan parts of London and home of the famous Portobello Road Market, for antiques, fresh produce and all sorts of other things. At the end of August it hosts Europe's biggest street party, the Notting Hill Carnival. The area provides an almost endless choice of cafés, restaurants, pubs and shops, from small neighbourhood stores to major shopping centres, and there are many travel options for reaching other parts of the city. Paddington railway station and Westfield Shopping centre are also nearby.
Nearest tube: Westbourne Park, 5 minutes walk (Hammersmith & City line) and Maida Vale, 14 minutes (Bakerloo line). Plenty of buses from nearby stops to the West End, Victoria, Kensington and Chelsea.
