Built for Henry VIII and grandly steeped in history, Hampton Court Palace is the place to hold unforgettable events. The selection of halls within this royal palace ensures there will be a right choice for your needs. The Great Hall, built for Henry VIII, has a stunning, soaring hammer-beam ceiling and great 16h century Flemish tapestries. There is also a minstrel's gallery for musicians. It holds 200 - 280 seated or 300 - 400 standing. Once upon a time, you had to be a baron, at least, to enter the Great Watching Chamber. Now mere mortals can enjoy the splendidly decorated hall, entered via the Haunted Gallery. It holds 60 - 100 seated or 100 - 150 standing. The King's Guard Chamber accommodated William III's guards and is hung with an impressive array of weaponry. It holds 80 - 120 seated, or 140 - 200 standing. The Queen's Public Dining Room boasts an impressive Grinling Gibbons chimney and lovely views over gardens. It holds 40 - 50 seated or 100 - 150 seated. The Wren-designed Cartoon Gallery was built to display 16th century cartoons by Raphael. Wonderful copies now hang there and it overlooks the Fountain Court. It holds 160 to 220 seated or 200 - 350 standing. The splendid Banqueting House, dating from the reign of William III, overlooks the Thames and the Pond Gardens and, if you choose, can be reached by boat. It holds up to 40 - 50 for meals or 100 - 150 for receptions. For summer events, the Apprentice Garden, a private walled garden, is available for marquee events, including dinner and dancing with the Paddock Car Park available close by. A list of approved caterers and suppliers is available, so that you choose the right menu for the event.
