La Porte Des Indes - a la carte dining

At La Porte des Indes expect good value, good quality Indian Food, all served in a pleasant environment brimming with atmosphere. The decor is spectacular and the restaurant is massive, encompassing several bars (one of which is 'the jungle bar' where patrons throw peanut shells on the floor) and private dining areas too. History lesson: the idea of scattering peanut shells in the bar was inspired by the rich and famous in the Long Bar of the Raffles of Singapore. Their famous patrons frivolously threw down peanut shells as a good-humoured slightly rebellious act of appreciation, which they could not get away with at home. Guests indulge in the same simple pleasure, which is happily encouraged.
