The heavenly aromas of his kitchen greet diners as they walk through the door & it?s plain sailing from the amuse-bouche onwards. Carpaccio of beef arrives successfully paired with parmesan mayo, while a perfect chunk of monkfish sits on dramatic splashes of black olive oil; unusual homemade sorbets & ice-creams run from cinnamon to honey & prosecco, though the unmissable dessert is morbidone al cioccolato, a bombe of crunchy biscuits & chocolate. The all-Italian wine list entertains with oenophile anecdotes, including the price per hectare of the wine-growing land. Perhaps the restaurant could do with a little sprucing up, but with atmosphere & cooking this good, most diners will hardly notice the dull interior.
