Part of the Tate group the Tate modern first opened in May 2000 and has since become one of the UK’s most popular Galleries. It is housed in the former Bankside Power Station, and access to much of the gallery is free. The gallery is dedicated to Modern Art and visitors will find works by well known artists such as Pablo Picasso and Salvador Dali. The building has two restaurants, one of which offers views over the river Thames. You can also find a bookshop on the ground floor which offers many books on modern art in general and also books related to the current exhibits.
Cost - Entrance to the Tate Modern is free but donations are welcome.
Location - The Tate Modern is located close to Blackfriars or Southwark tube and can easily be found by following the signs from either.
