This lovely one-bedroom apartment is situated on the second floor of a Victorian period house (built in 1855).

Area Description

The street in which the house is located is in the sought-after ‘Pimlico Grid’ – a grid of residential streets laid down by the planner Thomas Cubitt beginning in 1825, and now protected as the Pimlico Conservation Area, and subject to elaborate traffic flow measures to inhibit through-traffic. The apartment is whisper-quiet.
It’s a 10-min WALK to the River Thames, and to the King’s Road (Chelsea), the National Army Museum and the Royal Hospital Chelsea, home to the annual Chelsea Flower Show. It’s a 15 minute WALK to Buckingham Palace, Tate Britain, Lambeth Palace, Westminster Cathedral and St James Park. A 20 minute WALK takes you to the Houses of Parliament, Big Ben, No 10 Downing Street, the Queen Elizabeth Conference Centre, the Cabinet Rooms (with their World War Two display) and the major government buildings on Whitehall. And, in the other direction, to the Chelsea Flower Show.
Within the Pimlico Village, in the district of Westminster (Zone 1), the apartment is a few minutes’ walk from excellent supermarkets, some of them open 24/7 and wonderful restaurants. The transport links are amazing. There are taxis galore and you are under ten minutes’ walk to Victoria Mainline Station and to the nearest Underground (‘Tube’) station (Victoria Underground in Victoria Mainline Station). The best bus in London stops just before Victoria Station: the No24, which carries you past the Westminster Cathedral, the Houses of Parliament, Big Ben, No 10 Downing Street (the residence of the Prime Minister), Trafalgar Square and the National Gallery, on its short ride into the West End, Covent Garden and ‘theatre land’.

Property Description

Sleep in the hugely comfortable, lavender-scented bed in this sunny apartment fitted out to the highest standard - and so centrally situated that you can walk, in 10-15 minutes, to Buckingham Palace. We aim to create a top-quality-boutique-hotel-experience in a unique self-catering apartment - while fitting it out for families, including with young children.

Decor

The apartment is interior-designed in soft grey, 'cashmere’ and mauve. The ‘mood’ lighting includes background light sources, which can be set to rotate as colour-change.

Receptions

With large traditional (yet brand new) double-glazed sash windows to the front and rear, this bright apartment is flooded with light. South-facing into the afternoon sun, the spacious living/dining/sitting room is fitted with every convenience: unlimited Broadband; underfloor heating; substantial wall-hung SMART TVs (there’s one in the bedroom, too) wired into the WiFi network and with pre-paid access to Netflix; USB ports in power sockets; fold-out end-tables to each side of the custom-made sofa bed so you can ‘lounge’ while working at your laptop.

Kitchen

With mango-wood dining table and four matching dining chairs (you can use this table as a desk); a stream-lined, well-fitted kitchen with all modern conveniences; ‘art’ photographs on the walls..

Bedrooms

The apartment sleeps four adults comfortably. Two sleep in the bedroom, where again there is ‘mood’ and colour-change lighting, a phone-charger/radio/alarm clock and USB charging points to each side of the bed. The mattress (150 cm – 5’0” – wide) is ‘bespoke’: firm and supportive while, at the same time, allowing the sleepers to feel as if they are floating on a cloud. In this cozy bedroom, a ‘hidden’ dressing table with hairdryer, as well as two concealed drawer units, clothes-hanging-space (more in the large cupboards in the sitting room), make the most of every inch of space.

Bathrooms

The bathroom is small but perfectly fitted, with a powerful shower over the bath, atmospheric lighting, and discrete ‘grab handles’ to make the bathing experience safe and secure for older guests. We also provide high quality bath-and-shower products, with two deep, fluffy towels and a face-cloth for each guest.

More specifically, ‘the Alderney” is a minute's WALK from a gastro pub and a FIVE MINUTE WALK to a host of other great restaurants and coffee shops, the local stores of all kinds (from nail-bars to hardware shops), banks, phone shops, post-office, supermarkets and specialist delicatessens, a cab rank, and city bike and car hire and coach links to the Continent, to the English countryside, and to all the near-London airports; and an EIGHT MINUTE WALK to the amazing transport hub of Victoria Mainline Station, which also includes buses to every part of London, as well as Victoria Underground (‘Tube’) Station and the Gatwick Express train.
