Area Description

The northern end of the Portobello Road has been transformed in recent years into a hub of activity with ultra trendy restaurants, cinema and award winning cafes on nearly every corner. The Teanamu Chaya Teahouse on St Luke's Road ( 2 minutes walking) offers afternoon tea with an Asian twist, serving a vast selection of teas with Scones also make an appearance and served with clotted cream and rose petal jam. This quaint teahouse provides an intimate and ceremonial experience. Guests are guided through the different teas and a number of tempting food menu delicacies. Lucky 7 restaurant is a spookily accurate recreation of a 1950s diner (3 minutes walking), with an authentic American menu created by Tom Conran. It’s like a Midwestern diner from the 1950s straight from a James Dean film. The burgers are definitely the main attraction, from staple classics to more exotic crab-meat or green chilli patties. This is a fantastic, indulgent treat, with true style, atmosphere and a superb location near the delights of Ladbroke Grove.
Portobello Road, bursts at the seams with antiques and vintage fashion stores. And if it's markets you are after, this area boasts some of the world’s best-loved stalls. You’re also within walking distance of the magnificent Kensington Gardens and Hyde Park.

The colourful and cosy sitting room is well furnished with wood floor, exquisite pieces of furniture and comfortable sofa, artworks and a wall attached TV.

Kitchen

This stunning L-shaped kitchen is well equipped with modern appliances including fridge / freezer, oven and induction hob, microwave, dishwasher and cafetiere. The dining area over looks the beautiful garden making this a fantastic relaxing space.

Bedrooms

The bright and airy double bedroom is furnished with UK King bed (150 x 200cm), good quality bedside tables and lamps as well as a large TV with a good selection of freeview channels. There is a hanging clothes rail and chest of drawers available for storage.

Bathrooms

The beautiful tiled bathroom located next to the bedroom has an excellent walk in shower with large rain shower unit plus a hand held shower . There is also a wash basin, loo and large mirror.

Why stay in Notting Hill:

There is a bohemian spirit in this area with traditional pubs, restaurants and antique shops including the world-famous Portobello Road Antique Market.

Notting Hill is not only a set for the famous movie but it is also famous for Europe’s biggest street festival and one of the city’s best markets. It attracts thousands of people to its quirky backstreets and lovely gardens. Notting Hill Gate is the main tube station (Central, District and Circle Line). There are also many surrounding tube stations such as Westbourne Park Station and Ladbroke Grove.

There is never a dull moment when in Notting Hill, every August bank holiday millions of people gather here for the Notting Hill Carnival. They fill the streets with costumes, marching bands, Calypso music and a variety of mouth watering food.

Portobello Market is a very popular market and runs from 7 days a week. The best days to hit up the markets however are Friday and Saturday and we would definitely recommend stopping by if you wish to find some delicious snacks, antiques or vintage clothing. Notting Hill is of course most famous for the romantic comedy released in 1999. It immediately became a popular place to visit as much of the film was shot in and around the area. There is a Notting Hill Film Tour which shows you some of the famous locations featured in the film and you can also learn about the history of the area.

There are a few museums and galleries in the area worth seeing such as The Museum of Brands, Packaging and Advertising which is one of London’s quirkiest museums. There is also a gallery called Graffik which is dedicated to urban art and definitely worth a look.

For a quiet pint in Notting Hill, head to traditional pubs such as the Hillgate, The Cow or The Elgin which hosts a diverse mix of live music throughout the week. If you are looking for a more glamorous evening make your way to Beach Blanket Babylon for some delicious cocktails. Notting Hill is also conveniently close to Central London and the Westfield Shopping Mall which means it is one of the best places to stay in London.
